Folded Size
The Clicgear folds to 13 × 15 × 23 in and 2.6 cubic feet. The Nitron Swivel folds to 18.7 × 13 × 22 in and 3.1 cubic feet — 0.5 cubic feet more. The Clicgear is a hair longer at 23 inches versus 22, but it's narrower across the middle: 15 inches versus 18.7, with both at 13 on the short side. That narrower profile is what lets it tuck in beside a second bag or a stroller in the back without fighting for space.
One caveat worth naming: Clicgear's spec table says the cart folds to 23 inches tall, but the feature copy on the same page says 24. The 23-inch number is what's in the table, and that's what's used here, but it's a real contradiction on their own site.
Weight
The Nitron Swivel is 18.5 lbs. The Clicgear Model 4.5 is 21 lbs. That's a 2.5-pound gap — noticeable when you're lifting either one into the trunk after 18 holes, but not the deciding factor between them.
Fold Mechanism and Front Wheel
The Nitron Swivel uses what Bag Boy calls an auto-open fold driven by a Nitro-Piston, described as a one-step operation. Clicgear doesn't publish a fold mechanism description for the 4.5.
The front wheel story is similarly one-sided: the Nitron Swivel has a 360° swivel front wheel that locks. Clicgear doesn't publish whether the 4.5's front wheel swivels. If that matters to you, the Bag Boy is the one with a stated answer.
Brakes
The Nitron Swivel uses a dual rear brake that locks both back wheels. The Clicgear 4.5 uses a hand brake on the front wheel with an internally routed cable. Different approach — the Bag Boy's brake works on the rear wheels, the Clicgear's on the front. I won't pretend I can rank them from a spec sheet.
What's in the Box
This is where the Clicgear separates itself. The 4.5 comes with an umbrella mount, an adjustable drink holder, a storage bag, a mesh basket, and a phone holder console. All included. The Nitron Swivel includes a cup holder and a deep storage console. Bag Boy's page mentions umbrella storage but, per their own listing, no umbrella holder is included — meaning that's a separate purchase if you want one.
An accessory you don't have to order is one less thing to chase.
Warranty
The Bag Boy carries a two-year limited warranty with no frame distinction noted. The Clicgear's depends on where you buy it: two years on parts and six on the frame from Clicgear.com, one year on parts and three on the frame from other retailers.
Who Should Buy Which
Get the Clicgear Model 4.5 if:
- You want everything ready out of the box — umbrella mount, drink holder, phone console, storage bag, mesh basket — without a follow-up order.
- Trunk space is tight and you need the most compact fold.
- You're buying directly from Clicgear.com and the six-year frame warranty matters to you.
- You're comparing these two mostly on price and the $20.95 gap at list nudges you toward the lower number.
Get the Bag Boy Nitron Swivel if:
- The auto-open, one-step fold is something you actually want — carrying bags, managing kids, juggling gear between rounds.
- A 360° lockable swivel front wheel is on your list and you want a cart that publishes it clearly.
- Shaving 2.5 lbs off the trunk-lift matters, especially if you play multiple days in a row.
- Your course has tight turns and you want a front wheel that's stated to swivel.
The Bottom Line
The Clicgear Model 4.5 folds smaller, costs less at list, and comes with an umbrella mount the Nitron Swivel doesn't include. That's a lot of boxes checked before you've even unfolded it. The Nitron Swivel has real selling points — the auto-open fold, the lockable swivel wheel, the lighter weight — but they're conveniences, not necessities. If you want to pay $20.95 more for them, that's a fair trade. For most walkers, it isn't.
