The M-Tech Remote lists at $2,399; the HALO lists at $2,599 — a $200 gap at list. That alone isn't the whole story. The Motocaddy ships with an umbrella holder, a cup holder, and a storage console. The HALO's umbrella and drink holders are sold separately, and MGI publishes no warranty for the HALO at all. Motocaddy covers the trolley and charger for 36 months and the lithium battery for 60 months. That's a real difference: if something goes wrong two years in, one of these has published coverage and the other has none published.
GPS screen
The HALO runs a 4-inch all-weather touchscreen with geo-protect mapped hazards. The M-Tech Remote has a 3.5-inch touchscreen with 40,000 courses. Half an inch of screen is a genuine difference — the HALO's display is meaningfully larger — but both are touchscreens and both are integrated. If you've ever squinted at a small screen in bright sun, the HALO's bigger display is the one spec here worth paying extra for.
Folded size
The HALO folds to 27 × 15 × 14 inches, a volume of 3.3 cubic feet. The M-Tech Remote folds to 25.5 × 20.3 × 16.5 inches, a volume of 4.9 cubic feet — 1.6 cubic feet more. The HALO is smaller by volume, but its longest single dimension is 27 inches against the M-Tech Remote's 25.5. Whether that matters depends on your trunk: measure the longest clearance you have, not just the opening height.
Wheels and bag retention
The M-Tech Remote has a swivel front wheel, a 360-rotating twin front wheel setup, and a retractable anti-tip rear wheel. It uses EASILOCK bag retention. The HALO's fold mechanism uses retractable wheels as part of the compact fold, but MGI doesn't publish a wheel count or front-wheel configuration. EASILOCK is a specific system; the HALO has no equivalent published.
Weight
The HALO weighs 27.55 lbs without the battery, and 33.29 lbs with it. The M-Tech Remote's spec table prints 34 lbs as a single figure, and Motocaddy doesn't say whether that includes the battery. Because they don't measure the same thing, there's no fair weight comparison to make here. Both go in the trunk the same way — lifted, not rolled.
Battery range
The HALO is rated for up to 36 holes. Motocaddy's US page publishes no battery range in holes for the M-Tech Remote. That asymmetry is worth naming: MGI tells you what the battery covers; Motocaddy doesn't. A 36-hole rating is two rounds on paper.
Follow mode
The HALO can add follow mode, but it requires the Halo Eye accessory, sold separately. The M-Tech Remote's follow-mode status isn't published. Neither page lists it in the box.

Buy the MGI Ai Navigator HALO if:
- You want the largest GPS screen in this comparison — 4 inches versus 3.5 — and you spend a lot of time looking at it mid-round
- Your trunk is tight enough that a 1.6-cubic-foot folded volume difference matters and you've measured that 27-inch longest dimension against your clearance
- You're comfortable sourcing accessories separately and can live without a published warranty
The Bottom Line
The Motocaddy M-Tech Remote is the default here. It's $200 less at list, ships with the accessories the HALO charges extra for, and comes with a 36-month trolley warranty and a 60-month battery warranty. The HALO has a bigger GPS screen and folds smaller by volume — two real advantages — but they don't close the gap on price, inclusions, and the absence of any published warranty.
